mzRepeat

mzRepeat is a visualization system for analysing molecules with repeating structures and described visualization example of lipids obtained from MALDI-MS. This developed system can be applied to mass spectra obtained from other mass spectromy methods that have ions repeating in equal intervals, for example, in microorganism classification, synthesis polymer analysis and quality control.

ADVISe

ADVISe (Annotation Dynamics Visualization) is an an interactive visualization called which tackles the problem of visualizing evolutions in enzyme annotations across several releases of the UniProt/SwissProt database. More specifically, we visualize the dynamics of Enzyme Commission numbers (EC numbers), which are a numerical and hierarchical classification scheme for enzymes based on the chemical reactions they catalyze. The proposed interactive visualization gives a macro view of the changes and presents further details on demand, such as frequencies of change types segmented by levels of generalization and specialization as well as by enzyme families. Users can also explore entry metadata. With this tool, we were able to identify trends of specialization, database growth and exceptions in which EC numbers were deleted, divided or created and revisions of past annotation errors.

PresentaBALL

PresentaBALL is a presentation framework which uses established web technology standards to provide a freely configurable browser-based interface into the extensive modeling and visualization capabilities of the Biochemical Algorithms Library (BALL). This allows easy yet powerful dissemination of structure based research results at conferences or trade fairs, the preparation of lectures, or the development of massive open online courses (MOOCs)

The web interface is embedded into BALL's graphical frontend BALLView, and provides complete, interactive access to the loaded molecular data.

PresentaBALL enables researchers in biology with basic knowledge in HTML, JavaScript, or Python to easily setup academic tutorials, demonstrations, or scientific presentations and lectures with 3D structure content and interactive workflows. Owing to its flexible design, other modern forms of teaching and presentation, such as massive open online courses (MOOC) can also use PresentaBALL as their core component.

PresentaBALL is licensed under the GNU Public License (GPL) and will be made available in BALL/BALLView, starting with the upcoming release.

neuroMAP

neuroMap is an interactive two-dimensional graph that renders the brain and its interconnections in the form of a circuit-style wiring diagram. neuroMap provides a clearly structured overview of all possible connections between neurons and offers means for interactive exploration of the underlying neuronal database.
